Our blog
As we celebrate our mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, auntie, cousin, and friend Velma Lee Beamon,
we do so not in sorrow alone, but in gratitude for a life that was richly lived and deeply loved.
The Word of God reminds us in Psalm 90:12, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” Velma’s life was a testament to this wisdom, one marked by love, faith, resilience, and a quiet strength that touched generations.
She walked her journey with grace, leaving behind a legacy woven through family, friendship, and faith. Her love was steady, her presence reassuring, and her heart open to all who crossed her path. In every role she held as mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, she gave of herself freely and faithfully.
Though we grieve her physical absence, we are comforted by God’s promise in 2 Corinthians 5:8, “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” Today, we rejoice knowing that Velma has exchanged earthly burdens for eternal peace and now rests in the loving presence of her Savior.
We cling to the hope found in Revelation 21:4, “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain.” This promise assures us that her suffering has ended and her joy is complete.
As we honor her life, let us carry forward her love, her lessons, and her legacy. May we live in a way that reflects the values she instilled and the faith she demonstrated.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
